Located just over 10 miles from downtown Nashville, Brentwood, TN and the surrounding area offer plenty of options when planning a day out. Country music enthusiasts can enjoy one of the many opportunities to learn more about the industry and those working in it, while those looking to get outdoors are spoiled for choice.

1. Mammoth Cave National Park

Situated in the neighboring state of Kentucky, on the Visitor Center Parkway, Mammoth Cave National Park is the world’s longest cave system. Over 400 miles of the caves have been explored. The cave tours cater to those of all abilities, ages, and experience levels, with popular options including the Gothic Avenue tour with rock formations resembling gothic architecture, the Mammoth tour and its prehistoric artifacts, and the Frozen Niagara tour.

In addition to the caves, the park’s 80 miles of hiking and biking trails provide an opportunity to take in some of the beautiful scenery on offer. For the more adventurous, there is the option of heading out on horseback.

2. Jack Daniel’s Distillery

The Jack Daniel’s Distillery is located at 133 Lynchburg Highway, just over 60 miles from Brentwood. Visitors learn how the world-famous brand is produced, with three tour options available. Two tours give visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the distillery before heading to the George Green Barrel House for adults who have reached the legal drinking age to sample the product. A third tour caters to non-drinkers and those with children.

Once you’ve finished your tour, remember to call in at Miss Mary Bob’s Restaurant and sample some of her traditional southern food, including Mr. Jack Daniel’s favorite, fried okra and pie. If you choose to sample Jack’s whiskey, do so responsibly and in moderation. Remember, don’t drink and drive.

3. The Hermitage-Home of President Andrew Jackson

Driving to the Hermitage, you won’t regret your investment in a Naim audio upgrade for your Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid and the unparalleled listening experience it provides. Located at 4580 Rachels Lane, the home of the 7th President is a must-see for any history buff. President Jackson lived there from 1804 to his death in 1845, when he was laid to rest at the Hermitage.
